GAVIN WITT:
The residency at the Voxel is as much about exploration and interrogation as it is discovery and delivery. What are you wrestling with? What are you wondering about?
COLLETTE KROGOL:
We had two processes with them ahead of this final residency, and we are so thankful to Voxel because they’re allowing us to build the world with all of the technical elements. We’re not doing the choreography without the water, without the technical elements. We’re allowing all of these parts to seep in together and find what we’re discovering with the movement. They’re all inspiring one another.
At the Voxel, it’s one of those experimental lab spaces that just—they’re “yes, and” people. As a new idea gets discovered, they’re like, “How do we reinvestigate? What is this inside of this world?”
It’s like a dream that’s coming to us, and we’re trying to decode the dream. We sometimes get textures or temperatures or one singular moment.
As we’re trying to decode this dream to build the world, Voxel is our partner in this and is allowing us to really dive in to find: What is Nevermore?
